Anyone have advice on what to wear and how to color coordiate with both groom party and bridesmaids?Girl in the groom's party: Advice?
we've got three girls as ';groomsmaids'; We decided to put them in two piece dresses (to sort of continue with the two piece suits the men will be wearing) So for example, our men are wearing chocolate suits with cream shirts and cream ties, so our ladies are wearing flowing chocolate skirts, with cream satiny spaghetti strap shirts, and then they have long sleeved over shirts that sort of overlap one another (like how robes overlap) made of the same material of the skirts, and then a cream ribbon to sort of mimic the mens' ties.





You could do something similar. For example, if the best man is wearing a black suit and a white shirt, and a blue vest and tie, then you have your laides wear a black skirt, a white strapless shirt, and a black wrap with blue ribbon. let me see if I can make one to demonstrateGirl in the groom's party: Advice?
Normally she wears the same dress as the bridesmaid but in black.
I think it looks best when all the ladies in the wedding party have similar (though not necessarily identical) dresses. Don't worry about color coordination for the gentlemen; men's formal wear comes in neutral colors like black and white, so that the gentlemen can be safely ignored and forgotten when planning colors. If this lady's dress is in the same color family as the bridesmaids dresses, and roughly similar in length and sleeves, it should make for a pleasing picture.





Please don't expect this lady to try to ';match the men'; and wear black when the other bridemaids are splendid in purple or pastels. And please don't ask the gentlemen to match the ladies. Imaginatively colored men's formal wear is festive looking on bartenders or on very young gentlemen attending high school proms, but it isn't suitable for weddings.

Maybe you could wear a black dress to match the guys in the wedding party, (if that's the color they are wearing!) and accent it with a touch of color that the bridesmaids are wearing? Typically the groomsmen will be wearing that accent color too. Good luck!
